Tina
Volume One Special: We are delighted to have Teacher Tina from the Art Department sharing some exciting insights with us today. As a former student from North America who returned to work here post-graduation, many are curious about Teacher Tina’s experiences. We hope this interview will satisfy your curiosity!
Adam: We know you were a student in North America. May I ask which university you attended and what brought you back here?
Tina: Firstly, I was quite homesick, which led to my return. Secondly, I am more familiar with North America. I have been here since high school, holding many warm memories, and wanted to continue creating beautiful memories here. Thirdly, the environment in North America feels very homely to me, a great place to create new memories even though some things have changed.
Adam: What opportunity led you to become an art teacher at an international high school?
Tina : Firstly, the atmosphe r e at international high schools seems more relaxed compared to ordinary high schools, which I personally prefer. Secondly, having studied here, I have a decent understanding of North America and feel that the atmosphere here is warmer compared to other schools.
Adam: In your curr ent t e a ching experience, what has been the most interesting moment? How does being a teacher compare to your time as a student?
Tina: Well, that's a lot of questions! For the first one, an interesting moment was when students actively engaged in a lesson, coming up with assumptions that I hadn't thought of, which was both surprising and fun. Regarding the transition from student to teacher, it has been somewhat challenging. As a student, I only had to focus on studying, but as a teacher, there are rules and regulations to set, which is quite a transition. Sometimes, I still feel like a student and have to pretend to be strict to maintain class discipline and efficiency.
Adam: Just a casual question, are you happier when you are at work or off work?
Tina: I believe there is happiness in both. At work, I enjoy communicating with students, having a good relationship where we can be both friends and mentors. Students here are lively and adorable. Off work, it’s more relaxed but can also be a bit boring compared to the lively school environment.
Adam:
Adam: Do you have any words for our newly established newspaper and the students in North America?
Tina: For the newspaper, I look forward to your publications. Seeing your recruitment posters and activities has been delightful, and I wish you continuous success and more exciting activities. For the students, I hope you all study hard. Studying is one of the happiest times in life. Build friendships, strong academic results, and lay a solid foundation for your future by getting into a good university. Lastly, it’s essential to be happy every day while studying hard!
