Simon is a very popular foreign language teacher with his students, and when I interviewed him about his views on high schools in North America, he said: "I particularly like the environment around SNA. Being closer to the countryside and away from the busy city center, SNA gives me the opportunity to relax and enjoy myself. Especially when I open the windows in my office at weekends, I can clearly feel the peacefulness of the place, and this atmosphere gives me a sense of relaxation and stability." In other words, Simon's fondness for the place stems from its location, and he believes that SNA offers teachers a relatively peaceful country atmosphere compared to the bustling city center.

　　而最终留在在中国授课是因为Simon对中国有着非常积极的看法。塞尔维亚和中国的关系十分密切，所以当涉及到出国寻找更高薪水的工作时，他很倾向于来到像中国这样友好的国家工作。他认为中国为世界提供了许多美好的机会，尤其是"一带一路"的倡议另他印象深刻，而塞尔维亚正是"一带一路"倡议中最西部的一份子，因此他对两国的国际关系充满了乐观的态度。

Another factor that has kept him at SNA is even more important, Simon says: "I've been really impressed with the students I've met here. They all have great personalities and I'm excited to see how they develop in the future. The student body here is also very welcoming and friendly, making me want to do everything I can to help them improve their foreign language skills as well as help them move forward on this international path." A passionate English teacher wi th a unique education albackg round , Simon is a native Canadian, but his wife is from Serbia, so before coming to SNA, Simon worked at a small language institute called "Spelling School" in Serbia, which made a good impression on him. His audience was a mix of students and adults, and he was involved in a lot of teaching and tutoring throughout the day, but the downside was that the pay in Serbia was relatively low. So in order to make money Simon also teaches English to Chinese students online through a platform called VIP Kid, which you may have heard of Simon stayed in China because he has a very positive view of the country. Serbia and China have a very close relationship, so when it comes to looking for better-paying jobs abroad, he prefers to work in a friendly country like China. He is optimistic about the international relations between the two countries, as he believes that China offers a lot of great opportunities for the world, and he is especially impressed by the Belt and Road Initiative, of which Serbia is the westernmost part.

　　最后，作为题外话，Simon提出了一个有趣的看法。他认为如果亚洲和欧洲能够通过陆上通道更好的将贸易网络相连，而不是通过航运线路将货物直接运送到西欧而不在中间停靠，我们可以共同拥有一个和平发展的世界。拥有这样一位诙谐、热情的外语老师是我们，也是SNA的骄傲。

Finally, as an aside, Simon made an interesting observation. He believes that if Asia and Europe could better connect their trade networks through overland routes, rather than shipping goods directly to Western Europe without stopping in between, we could have a peaceful and growing world together. Having such a witty and enthusiastic foreign language teacher is a source of pride for us, and for SNA.
