在 2023 年10月16日，苏州北美国际高级中学举行了第二次敦煌游学之旅。尽管北美学子此前曾参加过其他的游学活动，但那些活动只是表面上的，虚有其表，只是为了摆出架子而已。然而，这一次，得益于北美的机会，我们有幸亲身体验和实地调研，真正地接触和了解沙洲的文化、历史、社会和自然。通过这次机会，北美学子还能接触到新的学科领域、观点和见识。

On October 16, 2023, Suzhou North American Inter national High School conducted its second educational tour to Dunhuang. Despite previous participation in other educational activities, those merely scratched the surface and were more about maintaining appearances. However, this time, thanks to the opportunities provided by North America, we were fortunate enough to personally experience and conduct on-the-ground research, genuinely engaging with the culture, history, society, and nature of the desert regions. Through this opportunity, North American students could also explore new academic fields, perspectives, and insights.

　　在这次活动中，同学们浏览了莫高窟的24个洞窟和2个特色窟，并且聆听了学术界专家的讲座。他们还参观了当地著名的博物馆。除了这些学术活动，同学们还一起观看了主题电影、球幕电影，并欣赏了两场精彩的演出。他们还参与敦煌壁画的临摹活动，遇见敦煌色彩的体验活动。当然，他们还品尝了当地极具特色的盒饭和特色餐。

During this event, students visited 24 caves and 2 special caves in Mogao Grottoes and listened to lectures from academic experts. They also visited local famous museums. In addition to these academic activities, students also watched thematic films, dome films, and appreciated two excellent performances. They participated in Dunhuang mural painting imitations and experienced the colors of Dunhuang. Of course, they also tasted the local specialty box lunches and special meals.

　　Q：你们这七天都干了哪些事？

Q: What did you do during these seven days?

　　A：第一天我们先在敦煌通过电影对敦煌进行了一个了解，接下来的 3 天我们去看了莫高窟其中尤其重要的 6 个特色窟。后面我们还进行了沙子工程敦煌夜市。最后面几天我们有徒步 8 公里横穿戈壁和徒步登顶月牙山然后去看阳关最后一天就回家了。

A: On the first day, we learned about Dunhuang through a film. In the following three days, we visited six essential special caves in Mogao Grottoes. Later, we also did the desert engineering and visited the Dunhuang night market. In the last few days, we hiked 8 kilometers across the Gobi Desert, climbed the Crescent Mountain, visited the Yangguan, and then returned home on the last day.

　　Q：最让你印象深刻的是哪件事？

Q: What left the deepest impression on you?

　　A：首先就是 Peter 时隔两年再次穿上女装，其次就是我们徒步登顶月牙山沙漠也许有人会说不借助任何工具，靠人力爬上许多近乎垂直的斜坡事不可能的。其实，当你爬的筋疲力尽，五脏六腑都充血了，再回过头拉看一切看的东西时，刚才的成就感是难以想象的！

A: First of all, it was Peter dressing in women's clothing again after two years. Secondly, it was our hike and climb to the top of the Crescent Mountain in the desert. Some people might say that climbing many nearly vertical slopes without the help of any tools is impossible, but actually, when you are exhausted and look back at everything, the sense of achievement is unimaginable!

　　Q：你们这几天吃的怎么样？有发生过上次游学发生过的事吗？

Q: How was the food during these days? Did anything happen like in the previous study tour?

　　A：吃的都为正常（比食堂好）但是没有吃到烤全羊，最好吃的就是金叶餐厅，哈密瓜炒木耳是我没想到的。

A: The food was pretty good (better than the cafeteria), but we didn’t get to eat a whole roasted lamb. The best meal was at the Golden Leaf Restaurant; the stir-fried cantaloupe with black fungus was unexpected.
